Dear Sharon & Carey
It's actually really difficult to write this, because we want to pack so many superlatives and still have it be believable. Sure we expected beautiful sunsets, dazzlingly exotic locations, fun in the ocean and the feel of freedom that comes with a boating experience. But you managed to create an experience that simply outstripped our every expectation.

From the moment we stepped on your boat to the very final day, we felt that you had welcomed us not into a floating hotel, but as part of your home. Every day on board was an experience, whether it was the thrill of sailing a catamaran, exploring the underwater wonderland with your hookah system, strolling on secluded beaches, discovering islands, dining with Donald Sutherland (was that planned??), lazing on the hammock or ending a hard day's play with a professional massage. And how could we begin to describe our late-night beach front dining experience (lobster and fresh fish, naturally) with "Shark Attack", your idiosyncratic cook-in-a-shed? The cooking on board far surpassed anything we had in the restaurants, however. In fact, we are still thinking about the fresh tuna on a bed of spicy blueberry sauce! Amazingly, this is your best-kept secret. How could we have expected a gourmet experience on board a boat, bobbing somewhere in nowhere in the Caribbean? We could go on, but I think you get the gist. We now understand what the name of your beautiful boat really means. DreamWeaver - It describes what you want you and your guests to experience: their dreams. We can't wait to do it again!

I signed on for the cruise mainly because I enjoy sailing and snorkeling, and I was not disappointed. The environment is beautiful, the climate is warm and humid, and the clear aqua sea water will beckon you to jump right in. There is a snorkeling opportunity at every island, and by the end of the week, I saw nearly every sea creature and plant pictured on the cards of local sea life. Nurse sharks and sea rays and sea urchins, oh my! Hear the parrot fish nibbling on the corral. Taste the salt. Feel the warm currents gently ebb and flow, and the warm humid air blowing in from the east day and night. Enough wind to make sailing a blast! Sharon and Carey know all the ins and outs of obtaining fresh local bread, fruits and vegetables, yellow fin tuna, lobster, and mahi mahi, and their recipes are delicious. They are also terrific sailors, hosts and tour guides. Thank you Carey and Sharon for a wonderful adventure!

Dear Sharon and Carey,
I think of you both and our fantastic week many times a day, but didn't want to simply write and say "wish we were still there". But after three weeks that's what I'm still saying. Our week with you and DreamWeaver was the best vacation I've ever had. We've been many places but this time I truly relaxed and simply went with the flow. This is probably a bit goofy but I didn't write earlier because it took me awhile to figure out why I was in such a funk after returning to work. Every night the first week I looked at our pictures and just played everything over in my mind. I simply was NOT ready to depart on Saturday morning. My boss informed me that if I was going to come back from vacation grumpy he wasn't going to let me go again.

Our week in the Grenadines was my 'soul trip' and I don't know how I'll ever top it, so I'll just have to come back! Thank you both so much for your hospitality, great food, excellent massage, wonderful conversation. AND... fun sailing (I could have done more!), cigars (thanks Carey!) and friendship.
Take care,

Carey and Sharon,
The week was so great, how do I sum it up in a few sound bytes? All my friends have remarked that I look so relaxed since I returned....I told them that this was the first trip I have ever taken that I found I had relaxed into the vacation within 24 hours of stepping on to the boat. Here is a snapshot of things I will remember, and have missed, since leaving DreamWeaver...

  • Living according to the rhythms of nature and my body... the wind, the roll of the water, the position of the sun, the call for refreshment and rest.
  • The incredible light show of stars at night.
  • Sensuously washing my hair in the deep blue Caribbean water.
  • Fresh coffee in the salon in the mornings, sitting in my pajamas and rocking with the waves.
  • Boat boys offering fresh lobster, baked bread, t-shirts, water, petrol, and anything else we might need.
  • Yoga in the morning on the beach.
  • Freshly caught fish, expertly seasoned and artfully prepared and served.
  • The entrancing views of the multihued water and tropical islands, dancing in front of my eyes every minute of every day.
  • Breathtaking sunsets.
  • The morning's simple decision of which swimsuit and sarong to wear.
  • The warm sun penetrating my body and lightening my heart, while the fresh breeze tickled my hair and cooled my skin.
  • The intimate peek into a world and lifestyle so different from my own everyday life.
Thanks to you both for sharing all of that and more...

Hi Carey and Sharon,
We really enjoyed our time with you. You are the best hosts ever and we will recommend you to all our friends. Sharon, you are a fantastic cook!! Everything was delicious and the presentation was beautiful - we truly enjoyed all your great meals and appetizers. You've inspired me to try some of your recipes and use more fresh fruits, veggies, and fish in my cooking. You're also a great hostess, tour guide and friend. You really keep things going on that boat! Carey, you're a great captain; even when the waves got a little high and the sailing was a bit hairy, we were never worried. We had complete confidence in your abilities. You always kept us informed of what to expect and what was going to happen next. And I think the highlight of the day was watching the sunset while drinking your icy cold cocktails! This will certainly be a trip we'll never forget!!

Hi Captain B and Admiral G,
What a wonderful trip we had on your beautiful boat!! I agree with everything Barb said plus more. You two are great hosts and if you treat everyone like you did us, you will rock in the charter business. Sharon, we were so impressed with the awesome meals you whipped up for us and the way you made us all feel so comfortable and at home. Not to mention the top notch massages!

Could it get any better? Well, yes, there's more. Gorgeous sunsets with frosty drinks blended up for us by Carey after a day of breath-taking sailing and world class snorkeling! We also appreciate your patience with our Rasta Rick as we know how "exuberant" he can be at times. He absolutely loved everything and has a lot of great memories to carry with him throughout his life. Carey, I can see this boat is truly you - you were absolutely in your element as you sailed the ocean blue with the wind blowing thru your Bill Clinton hair. It was fun reconnecting with you and seeing firsthand how you will be spending your fabulous 50's. And Sharon, we really enjoyed getting to know you. You are a wonderful person and a lot of fun - it felt like being around another one of our sisters when we were with you. You really are the heart of that boat. And both of you look absolutely marvelous! Thanks again for such a wonderful vacation and keep in touch.

Dearest Carey and Sharon,
We are hanging on to the wonderful memories of our week with you...and cherishing each and every one. Though I've decided a vacation away from reality can be a dangerous thing...the real world was all here, waiting for us, trying to make us forget, but I'm sure we won't. We had a fabulous week! Honestly, it was a perfect week and you and Sharon were impeccable hosts. Much love,

I learned to sail in the San Juan islands, so I am no stranger to beautiful sailing environments, but the ten days I spent with you were the most breathtaking of my sailing career. I consider myself a pretty prolific photographer under normal situations, but I managed to take over 1500 digital images during our trip!

In addition to the almost ridiculously beautiful setting, you created a warm and personal touch to our charter. Your obvious knowledge of sailing and calm demeanor made it possible for us to completely let go and enjoy the trip fully. (For the first time in ten years, I actually forgot that email existed!) Your intimate knowledge of the islands allowed us to enjoy experiences that we never would have on our own.

From shopping at the local markets, buying fresh fish right off the boat, lying on the deck under the stars and lobster dinners on the beach, the trip was filled with one unforgettable experience after another. I can’t thank you enough for hosting us on the most relaxing vacation we have ever been on, and we look forward to sailing with you again.

Sincerely,

Jeff Fitzsimmons

"My wife and I were looking for exotic honeymoons last year. When we started asking around, we were referred to Carey and Sharon Phillips. They offered a 9 day cruising vacation throughout the Grenadine Islands. The trip sounded exotic enough, but my wife and I had no experience sailing. The Phillips said not to worry. And they were right! Sailing was a piece of cake! We enjoyed a relaxing cruise every morning as we traveled from island to island - going places no cruise ship could go. At each port, we were able to experience incredible snorkeling and unbelievable scuba diving."

"We also had romantic day trips at some of the most beautiful places on earth. It really was a once in a lifetime trip. It was something that we will never forget."

Eric Clements

"I love to travel and I love the beach, so when I heard about the yachting trips offered by Carey and Sharon, I jumped at the opportunity. The experience was incredible - 9 days of unimaginable scenery - blue skies, blue waters, and warm sand! Although I worried about getting seasick (I am very sensitive to motion sickness), the sailing was surprisingly smooth and I never even opened all the medications I brought with me."

"Carey and Sharon's "behind-the-scenes" organization kept daily life on the boat relaxed and enjoyable. They are extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of the Grenadine Islands including spots to hike, snorkel, dive, swim, shop, and even where to go to try the native rum punch! I look forward to my next sailing trip with Carey and Sharon!"
